Landon Shimel, Associate Attorney

Landon Shimel is an Associate Attorney at the Law Office Burns & Jain. Landon is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for his clients through compassionate yet aggressive advocacy. At Burns & Jain, Landon’s practice focuses on serious personal injury cases, legal malpractice litigation, and personal bankruptcy.

Landon is passionate about helping his clients and treats each case as if it is his own. He knows that the stakes are high for every client, and that clients are trusting the their case to him to get them the absolute best result.

Prior to joining Burns & Jain, Landon attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, where he developed proficiency with cutting-edge legal technology tools and found ways to use them to deliver better outcomes for clients. With the Volunteer Lawyers Project and Massachusetts Trial Court, Landon provided pro-bono representation to clients seeking legal advice and legal services in a variety of civil matters, ranging from eviction defense to divorce and child custody disputes.

At the Law Office of Burns & Jain, Landon’s legal malpractice cases involve proving that the client’s former attorney failed to comply with their professional and ethical obligation to the client and that this failure resulted in harm to the client. Proving harm in a legal malpractice case involves proving the client’s original case in addition to the connection between the former attorney’s wrongful actions and the client’s harmful result. As you can imagine, legal malpractice cases require high attention to detail, and Landon’s devotion to the fine points of legal malpractice cases is truly exceptional.

Landon’s personal injury cases typically involve motor vehicle accidents, uninsured & underinsured cases, or cases where the insurance company makes an unfair offer of settlement. Many of these types of cases require a Chapter 93A and 176D Consumer Protection demand letter with subsequent litigation. Landon is a compelling litigator and is willing to go the extra mile to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.

Prior to his legal career, Landon was a marketing and operations manager for Techstrong Group, a successful IT media company that oversees several popular digital communities with a worldwide audience of over 50 million people. Landon obtained a Masters in International Business from the University of Florida before obtaining his Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School with a concentration in Legal Innovation & Technology.

Landon is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and is a member of the following organizations: The Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys; The Massachusetts Bar Association; and The Boston Bar Association.
