How to Win a Motorcycle Accident Case in Massachusetts

Motorcycle accidents. Good afternoon. My name is Neil Burns. I’m a lawyer here at Burns Jain at 6 Beacon Street in Boston, Massachusetts, and we represent victims of motorcycle accidents. I’ve been doing so here in this building at 6 Beacon since 1987,  and along with my partner, Roshan Jain, we represent victims of motorcycle accidents at trial.

There’s a lot of statistics about what causes motorcycle accidents, and what you should do to be aware of them. And there are six things that we put down in our blog article here about motorcycle accidents, road conditions, inattentive drivers, left turns, those are drivers making left turns, inexperience of the plaintiff or the driver, lane splitting by motorcycles, and age, the age of a motorcyclist.

Anecdotally, from my perspective in doing this for many, many years,  the left turns and the distracted drivers and the people who see a motorcycle and freeze so I’ll call that distracted. They don’t know what to do, they’re not thinking about other riders on the road, those are the things that really affect our clients who are victims of motorcycle accidents and injuries. The left turns, I can’t tell you how many times we’ve had a plaintiff, a client who was a victim because somebody was turning left and thought they could beat the motorcycle, didn’t see the motorcycle, thought the motorcycle could, you know, go around them because, you know, they’re more flexible.

Their steering is a little more focused. I don’t know why they do that, but they turn left in front of motorcycles. And we’ve had lots of those cases. Again, sometimes the age of the motorcyclist is a problem, but it’s also the inattentiveness.  In my opinion, that really gets to  drivers causing motorcycle accidents.

People are distracted. They don’t see the motorcycle. They think they can get in behind it, in front of it, make a left in front of it or behind it, or again, the left turns. So if you’re a victim of a motorcycle accident, call someone who has the experience. Call Burns and Jain. We’ve been doing motorcycle accident cases, we’ve been representing victims of motorcycle accidents for years and years and years.
